Fandom Meme!!

The one who seduced you and screwed you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it.
Harry fucking Potter. Oh, and let's never talk about you either, Vampirates. And while we're at it, no one bring up that bitch Blade:The Series either.

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets.

I admit it, I still pull out the Vesper Holly books when I'm depressed.

The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3a.m. at weird coffeehouses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized she really was fucking crazy.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
Oh, and Anita Blake.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to get with again although you're relieved she doesn't actually live in town.

>.>
Dr Who. Also, Rachel Morgan... and Maybe Princess Tutu too. DUN JUDGE ME.

The steady.

A Game of Thrones, True Blood... and in terms of a steady love whose fandom doesn't exist... The Secret Country.

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with.

The Dresden Files.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies 'cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain't.
I like the Red Wolf Conspiracy, you know? Seems so cool... but I just never get there. Abarat is in there too. I love the Gemma Doyle series but just never enough to really hard fan it..

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool chick except it's never really gone anywhere.
Skins... we had a great make-out session that one time, but... she just seems... too out there for me.

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at her and thinking, "her? how the hell did she land all these cool guys?"
Supernatural.

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and who you measure all other potential partners against.

Do I love you as much as I did Labyrinth? As much as Night World?

The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better and who you think you might have a crush on.

I... just made the acquaintance of Royal Pains... he's kinda cute, you know...

The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only she cleaned herself up a bit.

Stephanie Plum. Give me old!Ranger back and we'll talk, baby.
Also, Lies of Locke Lomora... Look, just... be better on book three?

Your hot new flame.

Mad Men at the moment but we're just having a fling.

The one who stole your boy-/girlfriend.
Harry Potter. I fucking hate you, Harry Potter.
Oh, and Vampirates. BABY WHAT HAPPENED?

Although World of Warcraft periodically steals my husband for reals... but he comes back so meh.

I think you /may/ like world war z...only because it's very, very different than standard zombie fair...I usually have nothing to do with zombies and I was utterly fascinated by the way max brooks treats it all like a series of documentary vignettes, and that he really kind of takes a global turn with it instead of DUDE VS. ZOMBIES!

does zahn's thrawn trilogy mean the atrocious star wars thing? because yeah...he was one of the first of the sw official fanfic novels, and it totally killed the fandom for me after a while.

and yes. I feel your utter pain with harry potter. that series betrayed a whole lot of us.

utterly utterly agree with you about supernatural.

how the hell did you make it through the simarillian without killing yourself?

and yes...us being those who grew up on labyrinth/lost boys/gremlins/every fantasy and horror movies in the eighties/fairy tales are destined to wander in circles wondering why there aren't any other fandoms that measure up to that first great hurrah. sigh.
